The Greatest Commandment—Matthew 22: 34-40

³⁴Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. ³⁵ One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: ³⁶ “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

 ³⁷ Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’^{] 38} This is the first and greatest commandment. ³⁹ And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ ⁴⁰ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

As I started to pray about what Holy Spirit wanted me to share with you in this article the devil began to cause me great discomfort in my heart.  You can guarantee that when you are in God’s will the enemy will try to cause confusion and chaos in your life. I have and many others have been meeting on Tuesday evenings praying for God to move in a mighty way in our community including BSUMC and other churches, we also have prayer warriors who pray from home. Yet it seems the harder we press in the more resistance we get in all areas of our lives. I receive the magazine “Voice of the Martyrs” and it hurt’s my heart the way we take for granted our privilege of being able to worship freely in our country yet we choose to find fault with each other.  We are called to be Disciples of Christ and to reach the hurting, the un-churched and show them by example. We, the body of Christ are falling short.

 I had a wonderful talk with a sweet lady in our church this past Sunday and she shared her feelings about why churches aren’t busting at the seams. With this said I am asking that we pray and search our hearts while asking God to remove any self serving motives that we might have and we will continue to see God move in our church.

 I am excited about what God has and is doing at BSUMC; I continue to stand on HIS promises. God gave me a precious vision which came in the form of a dream about a year ago now, I have shared this vision with some and when the Holy Spirit leads me I will share with all. One thing for sure we must be doing something right cause the ENEMY is trying to put a halt to God’s purposes, but he will NOT succeed, I declare this in Jesus most precious name.
