September is Christian Education Month
SUNDAY SCHOOL IS FOR EVERYONE
Children and youth are not the only ones who need to grow in their life of discipleship. The truth is, we never stop needing to grow in our faith. We can always learn new ways of understanding God’s Word for us today. We can always use more insight into what God is saying to us through His Word and we also need a group of friends to support us and be with us in the difficult times of life. All of these can be found in the Sunday School. Why don’t you begin a new journey of faith today and join a class? We provide six classes for Kindergarten-Teens and three classes for adults. Thank you to the teachers and workers who spend time to make all of these available.
WONDERFUL WEDNESDAY
Many volunteers work to provide this program which meets each Wednesday evening with classes from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Many of the volunteers work the full eight month program while others volunteer to work monthly or weekly. This program has been going on for 24 years and has become a community outreach. We need more volunteers to be teachers, assistants – or escorts – or mentors to welcome our children a the door and escort them to the different stations for the lesson study, music, recreation, child friendly meal, library services, service projects, and saying goodnight and staying with them until they are safely in the car going home. You can make a difference in a child’s life by giving your time to this. To this staff, “thank you” for serving our children and youth.
LIBRARY
Open Sunday morning and Wednesday evenings for you to come and check out books or videos along with Bill Gaither Homecoming videos. Some great material is in the library for you. Come check it out and be pleasantly surprised to all that is available for our use. Rebecca Lutz, Church Librarian.
CONFIRMATION CLASS
This is a special time led by Wayne and Cindi Culp for the children and youth on Wednesday nights for the full year to prepare for becoming full members of the UMChurch. It is offered to our 5th and 6th grade classes but is open to any young person above this age who also wants to join us. If you have a young person interested in this preparation, you need to be aware that this is the only confirmation class that is offered. This is a wonderful course and so important in preparing for church membership. There is so much to learn in this class.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
A summer program usually conducted in June with classes for all ages and directed by teachers and volunteers. There is a Bible lesson, crafts and other activities. Thank you for the many persons who volunteer to make this possible.
